The German Nutrition Association has warned of the health risks of food additives, as it slows down the metabolism and raises the risk of obesity.

The association explained that the food additives are tasked with extending the shelf life, improving the taste, or reducing sugar, such as glutamate and sweeteners.

The substance glutamate - which is hidden under the name "E 620" - increases appetite and delays the effect of satiety, and therefore one consumes more food, while sweeteners stimulate appetite towards real sugar, which negatively affects the level of Insulin in the body.

There are also substances that may enhance the occurrence of infections in the body and adversely affect collagen production, which paves the way for wrinkles and cellulite.

To avoid these risks, you should increase your intake of fresh foods and reduce the processed foods as much as possible, taking into consideration a closer look at the food packages, and avoid the items that contain these additives if possible.
