Thursday March 6 during his speech on the State of the Nation in Yamoussoukro, we should know more about Alassane Ouattara's intentions regarding the exact nature of the changes he intends to make to the 2016 constitution.

The calendar should be run at full speed, because for the executive, everything must be completed at the end of the month. As of Friday, an extraordinary Council of Ministers will look into the bill itself. Legislative work will follow, leading to no charge. The text will be on the parliamentarians' table the following Monday. Its adoption is scheduled by senators on March 13, and on March 17 for deputies. It must be adopted by two-thirds of parliamentarians. The executive has scheduled a promulgation and publication in the Official Journal on Wednesday March 18.

Then, work on the electoral code . On this issue too, the executive does not seem to want to waste time. The Council of Ministers will look into the matter on March 19. The Senate will rule on March 24. Then the National Assembly on March 28. As for the promulgation of this law on the electoral code, it is scheduled for Monday, March 30.

As a reminder, discussions between the government and the parties on this issue have resulted in a finding of profound differences. Some opposition parties have also called for arbitration by the Head of State. But this work schedule leaves little room for possible meetings or discussions.
