While pandemic concerns are growing as the new coronavirus infection (Corona 19) spreads to more than 70 countries, the World Health Organization (WHO) has not yet defined the pandemic definition of corona 19.

WHO spokesman Tarek Yasarevic said the group is working together to define a fandemic for Corona 19 (local time).

"The WHO no longer uses the pandemic system for influenza, which was made up of six stages," Yasareevich said. "These changes are due to lessons learned from the 2009 H1N1 flu experience."

"A new (pandemic) definition for influenza has been made, but nothing has been defined for corona 19," he said.

"Our recommendations have remained unchanged in the meantime," he said. "Member countries strongly recommend taking action based on the information provided by the WHO and the plan for the local situation."

"We are at an important crossroads," he said. "At the same time, we must continue to try to curb Corona19, and at the same time, we must be prepared for the possibility of further infection."

Earlier, WHO used an alert system that was divided into six stages, ranging from stage 1 to pandemic 6, which has never reported animal influenza that causes human infection.

Based on this, WHO proclaimed the pandemic at the time of the H1N1 outbreak in 2009, but since the H1N1 incident was not as severe as expected, some criticized WHO for overreacting in the direction of some pharmaceutical companies.
