Two classes from the same school were quarantined in Switzerland after a student tested positive for coronavirus. The 21-year-old woman underwent analyzes after returning from a trip to Milan (Italy), a region severely affected by the epidemic, we learned this Sunday.
A total of 45 students and nine teachers from the Technical College of Biel, located in the canton of Bern, were placed in quarantine. They will be confined for fifteen days in total, according to the Swiss press agency ATS.
Many canceled events in Switzerland
This quarantine is one of the first measures taken against the Covid-19 in an educational establishment in Switzerland. Twenty cases of coronavirus have so far been reported in the country.
The Swiss authorities see their concern growing in the face of the spread of the epidemic in Italy and Germany. They canceled this Friday the Geneva Motor Show, the weekend football games and carnivals, as well as any major public or private event.
