About 3,000 surveys were conducted by the technical department in Värmland in 2019 and 450 site investigations in the field. It's all about fires, rapes, beatings and murders. However, there has been no major increase or change in the crime in the county according to Anna Hell, but that does not mean that you are rolling your thumb. The technical work requires constant development.

- The criminals learn a lot more about how we work and we want to be one step ahead, says Anna Hell.

"We must be prepared for it to come here too"

Right now, the police forensic technician in Värmland has a fairly quiet period. It is significantly worse in Stockholm and Malmö, for example, and technicians from Värmland have on several occasions been strengthened in Stockholm when their staff is not enough.

But even though it looks calmer here today, Anna Hell wants to increase her expertise in crimes that you see increasing, such as explosions.

- Development is going in that direction and we must be prepared for it to come here as well.
