Guest of the Big Evening News, relocated to Langouët, in Ille et Vilaine, Jimmy Guérin, young farmer, expressed his concerns about the impact of the coronavirus on exports.

The coronavirus also worries farmers. "We are starting to have certain impacts on production," worries Jimmy Guérin, a young farmer from Langouët, guest of the Grand Journal du Soir d'Europe 1, which was relocated Monday in this town of Ille et Vilaine. "I had to sell animals this week and for the moment, they are retoquées next week", continues this producer who offers cattle for slaughter.

However, farmers currently have no specific instructions regarding their own animals. "We don't have much more to do on animals. We have the same instructions as everyone else, wash your hands well, things like that", explains to Europe 1 Aurore Communier, organic farmer de l'Aulne, in Langouët.

"On export, it's starting to mess around"

On the other hand, some are already seeing an impact on their sales. As the coronavirus spreads globally, consumption begins to suffer. "We export animals and we see that it is starting to mess around. We sell in countries like Italy. As the stores are closed, they do not consume", explains Jimmy Guérin.

The coronavirus is indeed likely to brake the world economy very strongly. For 2020, according to the OECD, planetary growth risks falling from 2.9% to 2.4%. And the OECD has warned of an even darker scenario if the epidemic worsens.
