As at the beginning of each month, March 1 will be marked by some changes for the French. They relate in particular to the price of tobacco, that of gas and the motorcycle license. Europe 1 lists them.
Tobacco price rises
Tobacco prices are rising for the second time since January, before a further rise is expected in November. The price of the Malboro package therefore goes from 9.30 to 10 euros, while the Gauls blue will now cost 9.50 euros against 9 euros previously. As Le Parisien indicates, this price increase also concerns roll-your-own tobacco, with average increases of one euro.
But lower gas prices
On Sunday, Engie's regulated tax-free prices dropped on average by 4.6% compared to February. The prices of these tariffs have decreased on average by 18.6% since 1st 2019. "This reduction is 1.2% for customers who use gas for cooking, 2.7% for those who have a double use, cooking and hot water, and 4.8% for homes that heat with gas, "said the Energy Regulatory Commission (CRE), in a statement.
A new motorcycle license
The new motorcycle license comes into force on Sunday with the creation of a specific road code as flagship measure, announced on Saturday Road Safety which intends by this reform to reduce the excess mortality of bikers. Applicants, who previously had to pass the same theoretical test as those for a car license, will now answer 40 questions "approached from the point of view of the biker". The price remains the same (30 euros).
The practical tests undergo a grooming. That known as of "plate", where the candidate must chain maneuvers out of circulation, is reduced from 17 minutes 30 seconds to 10 minutes and relieved of the oral and technical questions, from now on integrated into the code. The circulating test passes from 35 to 40 minutes and will be evaluated there the control of the "safety trajectory", "which allows the best visibility at the end of a turn".
Taxes now payable at the tobacco shop
In ten departments, taxpayers will be able to pay their local taxes such as their housing tax, their property tax, or their fines in a tobacco shop, from Sunday. The government wants to generalize this device in July.
Automobile: implementation of a new scale for the ecological penalty
The ecological penalty threshold, that is to say the tax payable on first registration when buying a new car, and calculated based on the vehicle's CO2 emissions, is revised upwards. This threshold goes from 110 g / km to 138 g / km, with a range going from 50 euros to 20,000 euros.
Men and women equality
Established a year ago for the largest companies, the index of professional equality between women and men now applies to companies with 50 to 250 employees who had to publish it by March 1.
New anti-fraud rules for hybrid bikes
To better fight against fraud, VTC vehicles will now have to hold a secure professional card with a QR code. In the event of non-compliance with this new rule, the vehicles concerned will no longer be able to circulate.
