It is in Sågarbacken in Bålsta, that a popular forest area has been attacked by the spruce bark borer. The work of cutting down the firs is expected to start in March and last for a week.

- There is a safety risk for visitors because the trees can fall, says Ingela Boman, gardener in Håbo municipality.

In the long term, the felled trees will be replaced with new ones. But it can take several years before the forest is restored.
