The new Corona virus continues to sweep the world, with more than one country reporting new infections, while the United States, Australia and Thailand have confirmed their first deaths.

On Sunday morning, the Kuwaiti Ministry of Health announced that the number of people infected with the Corona virus has increased to 46, noting that it recorded a new infection during the last hours.

In China, where the first cases appeared at the end of last year, the authorities announced that the number of deaths due to the Corona virus had risen to 2,873 cases, after 35 new deaths were recorded. The number of injuries reached 79,824, most of them in Hubei Province.

In South Korea, health authorities announced that 376 new confirmed cases of the new Corona virus had been reported in the country, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 3,526, including 17 deaths.

The outbreak is the largest outside of China, where the virus began spreading in December 2019.

According to the South Korean Center for Disease Control and Prevention, the vast majority of new cases were recorded in Daegu (333).

In the United States, the number of people infected with the virus rose to 22, and the first deaths were recorded in Washington State.

For its part, Australia on Sunday recorded the first death from the Corona virus, a man who was evacuated from a cruise ship that was being quarantined.

A Australian Health Ministry spokeswoman told Agence France-Presse that the man died early Sunday morning in a hospital in Perth (southwest).

His 79-year-old wife, who was also infected with the virus, is still on board the hospital in Perth. The number of people living with HIV in Australia has reached 25, according to the latest government statement.

Figures and deaths
Meanwhile, the Director-General of the Department of Disease Control in Thailand said Sunday that the country had registered its first death from the 35-year-old man who was suffering from dengue fever.

The Department indicated that Thailand had detected 42 HIV cases since January, 30 of which had recovered, while 11 were still hospitalized.

In Italy, the death toll from the virus rose to 29, while 1,049 cases were recorded, according to what was announced by the Director of Civil Defense in Italy, Angelo Borelli, at a press conference on Saturday.

In Britain, three new cases of the Coronavirus have been registered, bringing the number of HIV infections nationwide to 23.

Reuters reported, quoting the Prime Minister of Armenia, the first case of infection with the Corona virus in the country.

Injuries and procedures
In Iraq, the Ministry of Health announced five new infections, bringing the total number of infections to 13, while the number of people infected with the virus in Lebanon increased to seven after recording three new infections.

This comes while the Kuwaiti Ministry of Health said that citizens of Iran and Thailand have been evacuated through six flights, adding that they will be transferred to quarantine and home monitoring, after they have been vetted and made sure that they are free of symptoms of infection with the Coronavirus.

For his part, the Turkish Health Minister said that Ankara decided to suspend all flights to and from Iraq, Italy and South Korea, due to the Corona virus.

The new Coronavirus has spread to many countries around the world, and more than 2,900 people have been killed worldwide since its outbreak in Wuhan, Hubei Province, China, last December.
