by Tiziana Di Giovannandrea 01 March 2020Vincenzo Boccia, president of Confindustria and Maurizio Landini, general secretary of the CGIL guests of Lucia Annunziata, in the program 'Half an hour more' on Rai 3 spoke about the repercussions on the Italian economy following the contagion from Coronavirus and the proposals that the social partners intend to discuss with the government in the meeting on Wednesday.
"We are in an emergency, we have to activate the construction sites" says Boccia while Maurizio Landini considers it essential to "involve private health".

To restart the country, Vincenzo Boccia clearly says that: "We must be protagonists of a European reformist season in which we do not go to ask for a little flexibility for Italy, but for a great infrastructural and transnational plan between the countries of Europe, from 3 trillion ". This is the recipe of the president of Confindustria Vincenzo Boccia, interviewed half an hour longer to counter the effects of Coronavirus on the economy. Money that must be spent immediately "in one or two years. So do the reverse spend it immediately and finance it in ten, thirty years, doing the reverse" and maybe, added Boccia, "every infrastructure can be given as a guarantee to a financial institution, for example like the ECB which could issue eurobonds ". Confindustraia's number one talks about a model Ponte Morandi: "We can no longer think of a one thousand billion Green New Deal to spend in the next few years. Private demand will go back, purchasing habits will go back. We need strong public demand, starting from from Italian and European infrastructures: we must use the resources allocated immediately. The Morandi bridge model must cover all the infrastructures of the country and this would compensate for the drop in private demand. The economy is complementary to health, not antithetical ".

Maurizio Landini, also a guest of the program led by Lucia Annunziata, spoke of the proposal that will be brought to the Wednesday meeting between the Government, the social partners and the Regions: "Calling inside private health" is essential to combat the Coronavirus emergency. For the secretary general of the CGIL: "We are talking about a public health health effort. Just to face the situation, because we are not at the end, in the next few days it is necessary to open this discussion".

The president of Confindustria, Vincenzo Boccia, fully agreed with the CGIL secretary, Maurizio Landini. Both asked the government to hurry. "There is nothing to expect, it is necessary to act immediately" underlined Boccia. Concrete proposals are to be presented at Wednesday's meeting because "There is an economic issue that has become an emergency. The world perceives Italy, not Italy's red zone".
