The temporary "reception" can receive several patients per hour.

- An ordinary hospital room needs to be ventilated for a while before the next patient can come in, but here it is easier to vent away any infection, says infectious doctor Fredrik Sund.

On Saturday, about 15 patients are tested here. Most of them have had contact with the two people so far confirmed to be infected in Uppsala, a woman who has been in Iran and a woman who has been on a job trip in Germany.

Must be booked

The tent is not a "drop-in" for people who are worried, Fredrik Sund points out.

- You must first have symptoms and have been in contact with an infected case - or been in a risk area. And to get here one must first have been in contact with 1177. Then we call and book a time with those who can carry the infection.

The infection clinic at Akademiska hospital has hired extra staff over the weekend to catch up with all the sampling.
