China News Agency, Tokyo, March 1 According to the Japan Broadcasting Association (NHK), on the evening of February 29, a collision between a cargo ship and a fishing boat occurred near the sea in Rokkasyo-mura, Aomori Prefecture, Japan. The whereabouts of the person are unknown.

According to the Hachinohe Maritime Security Department, at about 10.20 pm on the 29th, the cargo ship "GUO XING 1" sent a message saying that it collided with a fishing boat and the hull began to flood. After the cargo ship sank, only 1 of the 14 people on board was rescued, and the remaining 13 are currently missing.

The Ministry of Maritime Security stated that the incident occurred about 12 kilometers east of the fishing port of Liusuo Village. The fishing boat that collided with the cargo ship was the "eighth Tomaru". There were 13 Japanese and 2 Indonesians on board. None of them were seriously injured.
