The board of directors of the Arab Journalism Award approved the winning works for the 19th session of the award, in addition to accrediting the winner in both the columnistic and media personality categories, which are granted by a decision of the members of the Board of Directors.

This came during a meeting of the Council chaired by Diaa Rashwan, in the presence of the award's Secretary General Mona Ghanem Al-Marri, at the Dubai Press Club headquarters, while the names of the winners will be revealed during the award ceremony, which will coincide with the conclusion of the works of the Arab Media Forum on March 26, with the participation of A crowd of media and press leaders from across the Arab world.

The council, which includes in its membership an elite group of senior Arab media professionals, reviewed the work nominated for winning according to the merits of the award’s jury in its 13 categories, in addition to the details of the evaluation process that took place during the last period, and the recommendations that followed for the heads of the committees, while the deputy director presented The prize, Jassem Al Shamsi, provides a review of the most important statistics of participants during the current session.

Rashwan stressed that the growing numbers of participants are considered a renewed vote of confidence in the award, which they did not miss the opportunity to be among the competitors in all its categories, wishing success to all participants.

He stressed the award board’s keenness to celebrate the distinguished thinkers and high-level journalistic production and bring them to the honoring platform, in parallel with continuing to consolidate the award’s status in the Arab world and preserving the successes achieved through its successive sessions.

He explained that the award, thanks to the clear policy that she pursued since its foundation, and was based on a set of fundamental values ​​that have ruled her career for nearly two decades, today maintains its position as the most prominent and important forum for celebrating journalistic excellence in the Arab region, which demonstrates the advanced level of confidence that It won the award among the Arab press audience.

For her part, Mona Al-Marri said that the award is one of the paths that Dubai uses to create a tangible positive impact in its Arab environment and in various fields, including the media field, as it constitutes, with the Arab Media Forum, the two most important events on the media agenda in the region, with what it represents It is of great professional and literary value as it is the supreme honor that creators receive in the field of Arab journalism, so that it remains an incentive to upgrade the Arab journalistic product with a modern content that meets the aspirations of the recipient.

The award’s judging committees included more than 75 arbitrators divided into 13 arbitration committees, and they are from the elite journalists, academics, thinkers and researchers known at the level of the Arab world, and are known for their extensive experience in various fields, arts and disciplines of journalism work, taking into account the balance in the geographical distribution of the various Arab countries According to the field of specialization for each category of the award.

The arbitration committees began their duties after the end of the work of the screening committees, which are keen to ensure that the works submitted to the award comply with the conditions and criteria set for them according to the statute.

The screening committee also excludes movable works, books, translated materials, magazines and unlicensed newspapers, while the tasks of the arbitration committees continue to nominate and select the winners of the award categories according to an electronic scientific system.
