The night of the fire that killed five people in Strasbourg Thursday, two people who were close to the scene were arrested. They were then placed in police custody "for the destruction of property by means dangerous to people, resulting in death," according to Yolande Renzi.
The prosecutor of the city of Strasbourg said this Friday afternoon that the two individuals had been released because of insufficient serious or consistent evidence justifying their condition as they are.
The criminal track remains privileged. The prosecution of Strasbourg will open this Friday evening a judicial information. "Two investigating magistrates will be seized on the criminal head of destruction, deliberate damage to the property of others by the effect of a fire or any other means dangerous for people," said Yolande Renzi in his press release.
