The new Tunisian government took office after the end of a political crisis that lasted for months after the elections, and it will have to face major economic and social challenges.

A hand-over ceremony took place between the new government headed by Elias El-Fakhfakh and the caretaker government headed by Youssef El-Shahed Friday morning at the Hospitality Palace in Carthage in Tunis.

The members of the government took the oath yesterday before the country's president, Qais Saeed, after hours of gaining the confidence of Parliament by 129 votes out of a total of 217 votes, while 77 deputies voted against it.

During the swearing-in ceremony, the President stressed the need to respond to the demands of the people to improve their conditions, and stressed that addressing the economic situation and fighting corruption are the most important challenges facing the new government.

The new ruling coalition includes the Renaissance parties (54 deputies), the Democratic Movement (22 deputies), the People's Movement (15 deputies), and Long live Tunisia (14 deputies) in addition to independents, and harmony between its components is a major challenge for them, given the differences that emerged between them during the attempt The first failed government formation.

Among the most prominent files on the government are reviving the economy, reducing unemployment, fiscal deficits and debt.
