February 28, 2020 The Asian stock exchanges are shaking, with losses reaching more than 3% in about half a session. The spread of coronavirus in Japan and Black Thursday on Wall Street weigh heavily, with the Dow Jones and the S&P 500 recording the biggest drop in history in terms of points. The Dow Jones ended the session by losing 1,191.08 points, bringing the week's losses to over 3,200 points. The S&P 500 lost 137.64 points in the session.

The Chinese stock exchanges widen their losses and collapse on fears of the coronavirus epidemic: the Shanghai Composite index drops 2.84%, to 2,906.36 points, while the Shenzhen one loses 3.60%, at 1,826, 84.


The Tokyo Stock Exchange loses further ground at the end of the morning session with investors increasingly alarmed by a global expansion of the coronavirus, and after the largest daily drop ever recorded on Wall Street. The Nikkei reference index fell 3.48% to 21,184.77, with a loss of over 760 points.
