This came in a circular distributed by the Ministry of Education to school administrations, recently, and the Ministry, in cooperation with the Ministry of Health and Community Protection, launched an awareness and prevention campaign in schools on the "Corona virus", targeting Emirati school leaders, school administrators, ministry employees, and service unit heads, And teachers of health sciences and physical education, pointing out that the number of beneficiaries of the campaign reached more than 2000 employees.

The ministry explained that the campaign includes the establishment and implementation of health promotion and health education programs in schools, the need for early detection of the "Corona virus", and the strengthening of school staff health and the procedures adopted in detecting cases of infection.

Finally, in the circular distributed to schools, the Ministry specified several tasks for each of the school administration, the teacher, students, and their parents, as it decided to exempt the student and the administrator from school hours, and any of them is allowed to return to his home until he recovers in the event of symptoms of respiratory diseases, based on Recommendation of the nurse, and authorize the nurse to contact the student’s guardian if the need arises.

And she stressed the need to take advantage of the e-learning options available on the approved educational platforms, in the event that the student had to go home based on the recommendation of the nurse until he recovered, and the teacher followed up electronically or by telephone to ensure the progress of the educational process, in a way that ensures the achievement and guarantee of learning for all students.

The Ministry called on the school administration to implement awareness-raising and education campaigns about the spreading diseases and viruses, and to suspend posters related to health education in visible places in the school, and to ensure public cleanliness, and to provide the necessary disinfectants in classes and roads, stressing the need to communicate with the Ministry's operations center, to report any cases An emergency monitored at the school. The circular obligated the teacher to follow the students on a daily basis in the classroom, and to inform the administration and the nurse immediately when any symptoms of respiratory diseases appear on any student, with the need to educate students about the principles and procedures of personal hygiene, and urge them to do so continuously.

The Ministry of Education demanded the families of students with respiratory illnesses to absent them from school hours, present them to the doctor, and stress them not to visit crowded places, such as markets and commercial centers, and measure the temperature of the children periodically, while notifying the school nurse in the event of a student’s high temperature, and displaying it to The doctor, educating the children about the need to wash hands and use sterilizers, pay attention to healthy food and reduce sugars, to enhance immunity and prevent diseases.

The Ministry of Education called on the students ’parents to work to educate their children about the procedures that they must follow to avoid infectious diseases, stressing the need to follow the preventive instructions to protect them from infection and respiratory diseases, or cause them to be transferred to other people. Instructions include: covering the nose and mouth with a tissue when coughing or sneezing, bearing in mind throwing the tissue in the litter after using it, not in contact with or approaching animals, and avoiding places of crowding.
