The Department of Education and Knowledge has called for preparing for the competitions of the National Robot Olympiad, which will be organized in next June, with the participation of more than 1000 students from the first grade to 11 from various state schools, to provide solutions to help overcome climate challenges, while the winning teams will be escalated to represent The country is in the World Robot Olympiad in Montreal, Canada, from November 13 to 15.

In detail, the department confirmed that the Robot Olympiad in the Emirates is the local version of the World Olympiad, which is the largest event in the field of technology, an opportunity through which students can review their technical skills and participate in a distinguished educational experience that works to develop their abilities and experiences, noting that the topic of competitions this year is defined. With the "Climate Team", teams will have to develop robots that contribute to overcoming climate hazards, and create automated solutions to overcome climate challenges.

The department affirmed its efforts through the Olympics to introduce the concept of modern science in educational activities, in addition to qualifying students and developing their creative and problem-solving skills; to be scientists, engineers and inventors in the future, noting that the World Robot Olympiad is a platform where young students from different parts of the world meet to participate In robotics competitions and challenges.

She explained that the local Olympics competitions are divided into three categories: the regular category, the open category, and the football challenge.

Throughout the regular class, students are committed to designing, building, and programming robots that allow us to adapt, and help us overcome increasingly frequent climate hazards.

Open-class students must develop innovative solutions to existing problems using robotics technology by designing and building robots to help overcome climate challenges.

The football challenge consists of independent robotic teams that play football, after the department made minor changes to the game to motivate students to continue developing their robots.

Creativity of students

The Department of Education and Knowledge stated that competitions depend on teamwork, as teams consist of two or three members, and each coach or supervisor team is at least 18 years old.

"The project design and programming ideas should be the creativity of the students, not the instructor," she added.
