Last place among Russian regions in the level of legal alcohol sales last year was occupied by the Sakhalin Oblast. There were sold 11 liters of absolute alcohol (alcohol) per capita.

In second place is the Komi Republic (10.6 liters). Next come the Magadan region (10.5 liters), Udmurtia (9.9 liters) and the Moscow region (9.7 liters).

The smallest absolute alcohol per capita was sold in Chechnya (0.09 liters).

Also, low alcohol sales per capita of the permanent population were recorded in Ingushetia (0.1 liters), North Ossetia (0.5 liters), Dagestan (0.7 liters) and Kabardino-Balkaria (0.8 liters).

As the director of CIFRRA Vadim Drobiz explained in an interview with RT, the data on legal retail sales of alcohol from the unified state automated information system (EGAIS) and the population in all regions of the country according to the Federal State Statistics Service were used for the calculations.

The press service of Rosalkogolregulirovaniya clarified to RT that the EGAIS statistics displays information on the volume of retail sales of alcoholic beverages in terms of both labeled alcohol (with a strength of over 9%) and beer, beer drinks, cider, poire and mead.

“The rating for this or that region can be rather arbitrary, since a significant part of the population today (mainly men) works on a rotational basis in other regions, and we divide it by the permanent population. It is also important to take into account that a large number of legal sales in a number of areas does not mean that these regions are more “alcoholic”, but indicates that the population lives better there and prefers legal products to illegal ones, ”Vadim Drobiz believes.

Earlier, the most popular alcoholic drinks in Russia were named.
