February 28, 2020 "The institute is happy to be able to share this joy with the boy's family and his friends". This reads Spallanzani's medical bulletin, with which he reports the resignation of the young Niccolò tomorrow.

The 17-year-old Italian student was stuck in China and was in Wuhan, the coronavirus outbreak. An Air Force flight brought him back to Italy on 15 February. The boy is fine, tested negative and completed the necessary quarantine period. So tomorrow Niccolò will embrace his parents and friends.

Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio greets Niccolò via Facebook "This - he writes - gives us the strength and the stimulus to continue working with great commitment, just as we are doing. Happy that Niccolò can finally embrace his family".

The minister added: "Allow me to thank once again the Foreign Ministry's Crisis Unit, the whole diplomatic corps, the Air Force and all those who give their best every day for our compatriots at home and abroad. This is the Italy and must make us proud. "
