SVT News East called emergency assistant medical doctor Magnus Roberg to find out the latest in the Corona virus.

How are you working right now?

- We are mainly on the phone for days on end. There are many different sub-projects that will be in place. These include sampling capabilities, advice and getting other units up and running. Then we have close contact with the Public Health Authority, says Magnus Roberg.
Do you have any measures planned in the near future?

- Not in that way. Without it it is about sampling capacity and that we get a lot of questions. It is far from everyone who calls who is sick. Right now it is a lot about handling issues.

Does the new case in Gothenburg affect in any way?

- Not really. It was more or less expected that it would come, it was more a matter of where. It will look here, as it has done in most other countries, that there is rainfall.

How do you reason about travel?

- We follow the Foreign Ministry's advice on what destinations to avoid. It is primarily about not going to countries with a known spread of infection. Individual cases in countries do not affect.

How equipped is Region Östergötland?

- As well equipped as we can be. We trained in 2009 in connection with the bird flu and polished the plans that exist. There are plans for how to act, such as setting up scheduled non-emergency operations in orderly form.

How to think as a private person?

- You should think as always. Protect yourself if you cough and avoid people who cough. Then it is important to wash your hands and use hand spirit if you have it at home.

Are people's concerns justified?

- It's hard to say anything about people's concerns, it is as it is. To some extent, it is justified given that this is something new and unknown. At the same time, we have good control over what will happen and you do not have to be so worried.

- There will be some cases and we will be able to handle that. In addition, those who become ill will have lighter varieties. 80 percent get a lesser variant of the disease, says Magnus Roberg, hygienist and assistant infection control physician in the Östergötland region.
