A new announcement. Agnès Buzyn, head of the LREM list at the municipal level in Paris, proposes to double, to 10 euros, the tax on hotel nights in Parisian palaces to finance a support fund for merchants in difficulty, she explains on Friday.

"My promise is to increase neither taxes for Parisians nor debt. On the other hand, I am in favor of raising the tax on hotel nights in 5-star hotels, which will drop from 5 to 10 euros, ”she said in an interview with Les Echos.

"This would make it possible to finance a solidarity fund of 15 to 20 million euros to support merchants in difficulty and the attractiveness of the capital," she explains.

Asked moreover on the rental platform for tourist accommodation Airbnb, she said she wanted to "double the number of people who are responsible today (for its) control", so that "the 120-night rule is respected".

She also pronounced "for the prohibition" of tourism coaches in the capital, "but organized gradually in consultation with tourism stakeholders, not brutally".

The candidate, who will present her budget at the beginning of next week, built around the principle "one euro spent in addition will always be put in front of a euro of savings", indicates having "already identified 300 million euros in savings possible in the operating budget of the town hall ”.
