The circular requires that the competent forestry and grassland authorities at all levels must concentrate their efforts to strengthen the protection of wild animals in important wild animal distribution areas and habitats. It is necessary to actively cooperate with the market supervision, network supervision, transportation and other departments to shut down and seal up stalls, stores, game restaurants and other places selling edible wild animals in the market in accordance with the law. All wildlife trading advertisements shall be eliminated in accordance with the law. Those who illegally transport or deliver wild animals and products shall be strengthened in inspection and tracking, and shall be punished in accordance with the decision.
The notice clearly states that the competent forestry and grassland authorities at all levels shall conduct a thorough inspection and rectification of all institutions in the region that are engaged in the artificial breeding, management and utilization of wild animals for food purposes. Institutions engaging in artificial breeding of wild animals, operating and utilizing illegal activities shall be punished in accordance with the law; those who have obtained artificial breeding licenses and engage in artificial breeding of terrestrial wild animals for the purpose of food must withdraw and cancel the issued artificial breeding licenses or Documents, and all activities such as selling and transporting wild animals for food purposes will cease.
