The building committee in Halmstad municipality has previously decided not to extend the building permit for Bull's every single one. The decision was made when the veranda is placed on public land that should be accessible to everyone, and that it connects to the facade of Halmstad's old fire station, Bull's premises, which is q-marked.
The porch has been standing illegally since September 1, and since it has not disappeared, the municipality threatens with fines if the facade continues to remain.
SVT is looking for the owner for the facade is HB Svenska Bio for a comment. There have been several applications for temporary building permits as an attempt to keep the porch, but all applications have been rejected.
Why the municipality granted permission for the glass veranda from the beginning was because Lilla torg was under investigation for a new detailed plan. As a new detailed plan is no longer relevant, the municipality believes that the entire square should be accessible to all.
