China News Agency, Noor Sultan, February 26th. Ashgabat: Recently, Turkmenistan, a Central Asian country, has completed the drafting of relevant laws, continued to promote parliamentary reforms, and transformed from a one-house system to a two-house system.

Turkmenistan media reported on the 25th that relevant Turkish authorities have completed amendments to the Constitution and other laws, and amendments have been submitted to the public for discussion. An important aspect of the amendment is the establishment of a bicameral parliament. According to the draft, the official name of the Turkish Parliament is "National Assembly".

The National Assembly will consist of the People's Council and Margilis, the lower house of parliament. The People's Committee will have 56 seats, of which 48 members will be from 5 states and the capital Ashgabat, and 8 members will be appointed by the President himself. On a voluntary basis, the former Turkish President will automatically enter the People's Committee. Any Turkish citizen who has reached the age of 30, has a higher education degree, and has lived in the country for the last 10 years is eligible for membership.

Margilis will set up 125 seats. Its age threshold is slightly lower than that of the People's Committee. Every Turkish citizen who has reached the age of 25 and has lived in the country for the last 10 years has the right to be elected. The chairman and vice-chairman of the People's Committee and Margilis will be elected through internal elections.

The National Assembly has a term of five years, and its members cannot hold central and local administrative positions, and cannot serve as judges and prosecutors. If the president fails to perform his duties for some reason, his power will be transferred to the chairman of the people's committee before the new president is elected.

With regard to the distribution of powers, the People's Committee has the right to decide on a referendum, to consider the proposal by the President to appoint and dismiss the chairman of the Supreme Court, the Attorney General, the Minister of the Interior and the Minister of Justice, to confer presidential medals and ranks and other awards, and to consider changes in national boundaries Matters, etc. Margilis's main responsibilities include reviewing the national budget, setting dates for president, parliament, and local council elections.

Turkish media said that the relevant bill is expected to pass this fall and will take effect on January 1, 2021. (Finish)
