The accused’s lawyer added that Sokolov pleads guilty.
“My client does not argue with this. He himself voluntarily issued (a corollary. - RT ) a sawn-off shotgun, which, I note, was not acquired on the eve of the murder, but can be said to have been inherited, ”the representative of the historian’s defense explained.
Earlier it was reported that Sokolov would remain in a pre-trial detention center in Moscow tentatively until mid-April until the end of the investigative actions.
At the end of January, Sokolova underwent a psychiatric examination.
On the morning of November 9, the 63-year-old former associate professor of St. Petersburg State University, historian Oleg Sokolov was lifted out of the water near the Moika embankment with a backpack in which severed female hands and a traumatic gun were found.
Later, the court arrested him on charges of killing a graduate student. Sokolov pleaded guilty.
