Invading locusts to Yemen and other countries in the Horn of Africa is not a new thing, as people there used to face this phenomenon, and the population adapted to it, and some of them turned it into a source of food rich in proteins, but the story turned into a tragedy!

Unprecedented flocks threaten agriculture and food security for millions in Yemen and the Horn of Africa, reaching Saudi Arabia and Sudan.

According to testimonies obtained by "Arab DW", in more than one Yemeni governorate, the past weeks have witnessed an unprecedented outbreak of locust swarms, especially in the northern and southwestern regions of the country, including areas that rarely reach them.

Several areas in Saudi Arabia: (Riyadh, Hail, Qassim, and Sharqiya) witnessed large numbers of locust swarms from Yemen, as the farms settled for several hours as a result of the influence of the southern winds, and the drying out of the habitual breeding areas of the locust, causing instability in the movement and direction of the swarms.
