Which company can become a new owner is not clear and there is a concern that a buyer will not own the housing stock in the long term. A large part of the debate, which was organized by the Tenants Association, in the Stadshotellet on Tuesday evening was about the housing company that the municipality sells to be a serious player.

- We are keen to get a good and stable owner for this stock, says the municipal council Jari Puustinen (M).

Jari Puustinen: "We are keen to get a good and stable owner for this apartment stock"

But there are no guarantees that the apartments will not change owners once they are sold.

Leif Thorstensson (S), who is deputy chairman of Kommunfastigheter, says that the decision to sell the apartments was difficult to make.

- We see that efforts are needed in relation to other sides in the municipality of Eskilstuna and that is why we are part of this decision and have made it to the Kfast Board, he says.

Even if there is a serious player who buys the apartments now, they can be resold at a later stage, something that worries many, what do you say to them?

- It is a legitimate concern, because we cannot provide any guarantees. No one can do that whether you sell a bicycle, a car or a property. If you have sold, you have left power.
