In the fall of 2018, the Kronoberg Region decided to temporarily raise the OB supplement for all staff by 60 percent over regular remuneration. The decision was valid until March 2020.

Earlier this year, the region decided to temporarily extend the increase. The increase is now slightly lower than before, more than 50 per cent above regular OB supplement.

Applies to certain occupational groups

But the temporary increase only applies to certain occupational groups. These are nurses, specialist nurses, biomedical analysts and medical secretaries who will continue to receive extra OB supplements in the future.

For assistant nurses and attendants, the extra OB compensation is completely eliminated. As a result, the trade union Municipality has sharply criticized the decision, which is believed to make a difference between different professional groups.

- I look at this with dismay. It is an unfair decision because you keep the supplement for nurses but remove it for the other occupational groups. It is equally tiring to work in the evenings and weekends for everyone, said Jenny Sjöström, from Kronoberg Municipality, earlier in February.

Handed over protest list

On Wednesday, the regional council met. During the public questioning session, the Municipality took the opportunity to express its criticism of the decision before the unified politicians and at the same time hand over a protest list to the Regional Board Chairman Mikael Johansson (M).

The protest list has over 2400 signatures and is signed by members of the Municipal as well as members of other unions, as nurses and doctors.
