As the coronavirus epidemic spreads across Europe, two new cases have been identified in France, and the number of patients continues to increase in Italy. Back in France, Erasmus student Mathis lived until Tuesday in the small town of Codogno, one of the centers of the epidemic. He is about to enter his forties.

Erasmus student Mathis returned to France on Tuesday. He lived in Codogno, a small town 60 km from Milan, the main focus of the epidemic in the country.

"I will avoid contacts and public places"

"Instead of being in quarantine, my friend and I chose to go back to be safer," explains Mathis. The health authorities asked them to be placed in confinement for 14 days. "I prefer to find my family, to be isolated here," says the student.

Tuesday, two new cases of coronavirus were confirmed in France. The government recommends that all returnees from the areas affected by the epidemic follow certain precautions, including not sending children to school and avoiding any "not essential" outings. "I will try to avoid contacts and public places as much as possible. As much as possible, I hope to be able to do my shopping still, wearing a mask," he adds. He should also take his temperature at least twice a day.
