Bayern Munich took a huge option on the quarterfinals of the Champions League by coming to win at Chelsea (3-0) thanks to a double from Serge Gnabry, the former Gunner, to whom the air of London succeeds well .

Already in early October, during a group match at Tottenham, the German international had largely participated in a demolition in order of Spurs (7-2) with four goals.

On Wednesday at Stamford, he added two goals to his total, having never scored in London during his years at Arsenal from 2012 to 2014.

And the Gnabry always strikes twice. Against the Spurs, he found the fault in the 53rd and 55th minutes, then in the 83rd and 88th. There, it was at the 51st and 54th that he made valiant but helpless Blues bend so far.

Always looking for a formula that gives a bit of regularity to the performances of his team, Frank Lampard had decided to renew the same starting eleven winner of Tottenham Saturday (2-1).

A boon for Frenchman Olivier Giroud, scorer in the league, and for Ross Barkley or Marcos Alonso, usually second choices.

Unfortunately, the opposition opposite was on a whole new level and if Chelsea managed to raise its level of intensity, they offered, at best, an honorable resistance to the Bavarian ogre who knew how to wait for his time.

Always preferred to Kepa, the 80 million euro goalkeeper, Willy Caballero extended the deadline on decisive interventions in front of Robert Lewandowski (26th, 28th), and he blew relief when he saw a wrapped shot from Thomas Müller grazing his post (29th) and a playmaker's head touching the bar (35th).

Chelsea had a quarter of an hour, straddling the break, where he could tell himself that a better result than 0-0 was possible, Giroud being twice close to retaking shots from Mason Mount ( 34th) or Reece James (39th).

In the process, Marcos Alonso created an even sharper opportunity but his shot was well repelled by Manuel Neuer (43rd), also present twice before Mount and Barkley after the locker room (48th).

But by dint of not seizing their opportunities, Frank Lampard's men are punished on two school actions between Lewandowski and Gnabry.

Two one-two, concluded by Gnabry, but where the naivety and also the shortcomings of certain defenders at this level of competition were glaring.

The third goal, scored by Lewandowski on a new block (3-0, 76th), is almost anecdotal. The exclusion of Alonso at the end of the match for a bad gesture on the Pole much less, in a sector where Lampard does not have a lot of solutions.

With Leipzig taking an interesting advantage by winning at Tottenham (0-1) last week and Bayern who have already folded their eighth against Chelsea, the Bundesliga has in any case undermined the full power of the Premier League on the continent last season.
