The PRO room at Kronogården became nationally known last fall after children harassed the pensioners with gibberish and gravel throwing. Something the children later apologized for.

But the damage to the premises has been ongoing for several years, shows a review made by SVT's debate program "Sweden Meet: Direct".

28 windows are broken

In 2018 and 2019, the municipality of Trollhättan has paid close to SEK 119,000 for the cleaning of scribbles and the repair of broken glass. It all culminated around the turn of the year when 28 window panes were broken with some form of air force.

- I do not think that it is PRO that you are damaging. Had PRO had a room in another area, this room would have been exposed anyway, says Kristina Hedman, security manager at Trollhättan municipality.

Now the property has been fitted with bulletproof glass - at an additional cost of SEK 105,645.

- It's bulletproof glass, that's right. They are going to do an incredible amount of damage. We have spent a lot of money on replacing boxes. That's why we made the decision to invest a little more this time, ”says Kristina Hedman.

“Young people destroy the area”

Chairman of PRO Trollhättan Södra, Lars Ove Blomryd, is tired of the destruction and says that there are members who feel insecure:

- Young people destroy the area, they scare people. But it is a fantastic nice place. If you could lift it with a helicopter and put it in another district, we would probably profit a little from it, says Lars Ove Blomryd.

Tonight at 20:00 the program "Sweden meets: Direct" will be broadcast from Trollhättan in SVT1 and on SVT Play. Lars Ove Blomryd, Nyamko Sabuni (L) and Joakim Lamotte participate in the live broadcast.
