The tenth debate in the primary election race for the Democrats became somewhat chaotic and messy when six candidates directed the most fire at the seventh - Bernie Sanders.

- A misunderstanding, as you heard here tonight, is that the ideas I'm talking about are radical. They are not. In one form or another, they occur in different countries all over the world, Bernie Sanders said when all the aspirants had to describe the biggest misunderstandings about them.

US connoisseur Andreas Utterström

Despite the many hopes, Bernie Sanders fared the best, says US expert Andreas Utterström.

- Because he is extremely good at sticking to his message. He was good at constantly talking to the point and not letting the questioners interrupt him. Although he got some punches, he strongly stepped out of this debate, said Utterström in SVT's Morning Studio.

Got questions about Cuba

Sanders said that health care is a human right, that climate change must be stopped and that there should not be disproportionately many blacks in the country's prisons.

Among other things, Sanders was criticized for not clearly condemning Cuba since he said that the Castro regime has made progress in reading and writing skills in Cuba since the 1960s.

Sanders defended himself by always being an opponent of authoritarian regimes, but that one can still recognize when a country is doing something good.

Want to be alternative

Billionaire Mike Bloomberg said that Russia helps Sanders, which Pete Buttigieg also agreed with.

"Vladimir Putin thinks Donald Trump should be president of the United States, which is why Russia is helping you get elected so you lose against him," said former New York Mayor Bloomberg.

Billionaire Tom Steyer - who looks to be going strong in South Carolina - hoped that his efforts in the debate showed that he is a realistic alternative, and that this is not a fight between Sanders and Mike Bloomberg, which Steyer believes has been painted up as in the press.

"Both are risky choices that increase the likelihood of Donald Trump winning," Steyer told CBS after the debate.
