Staff position - big differences between the county's largest hospitals

During 2018, 96,885 visits were made to the county's largest emergency room at Capio St. Göran's hospital. The following year, the number of visitors increased to 101,121, but despite more patients, S: t Göran's hospital did not even go up to staff.

- We have very clear regulations and educate everything from nurses to temporary general practitioners, says Måns Belfrage, chief physician Capio S: t Göran's hospital.

At the hospital's emergency room, which has almost as many visitors as the emergency room at S: t Görans, it looks different. During the same period, they have gone up in staff position a total of eleven times. Four of the cases were caused by a lack of care places.

The last staff situation at Södersjukhuset was at the weekend and the reasons were due to more applicants for the emergency, vomiting illness and lack of both staff and care places.

"As it has been this weekend, it should certainly not be, neither for patients nor employees, and the situation is deeply regrettable," said the Southern Hospital's CEO Mikael Runsiö on Sunday.

At S: t Görans it is said that it is a balancing issue internally to go up in staff position.
