"It stuck out"

- We thought this was a very crude abuse. When a person tries to take on their civic responsibility and tell these young people not to do this way and is subjected to such this gross abuse. We looked at this very seriously. It stood out, said local police area chief Tomas Stakeberg Jansson.

The prosecutor alleged that the abuse was severe because the victim suffered severe bodily injury and because the perpetrators showed special ruthlessness and cruelty.

In addition, according to the prosecutor, one of the suspects filmed the abuse. A movie that was later posted on snapchat. The prosecutor saw the film as an important part of the evidence.

Most are frozen

Today's verdict is a defeat for the prosecutor. Borås district court does not think that the evidence is sufficient in most cases. The one of the youths who have been charged with assisting in serious abuse is released. Five of the guys are cleared of serious abuse. But one of these five is convicted of misdemeanor and unlawful driving. One of the guys, on the other hand, is sentenced to 30 days of youth service for abuse.
