Malaysia is seeking a new majority and a Prime Minister to replace Mahathir Mohamad, who resigned on February 24, 2020. However, at 94 years of age, he agreed to remain the interim head of state after his resignation. But this parliamentary change will probably not bring about a renewal of the political class. Last night's prayer, there were more than a hundred braving fear to gather at Independence Square. " Look at all these policemen ! Is it really necessary ? People are afraid to go out on the street to express themselves when it's theirs, it's called the public space for good reason ! "

Fadiah Nadwa Fikri is now angry, in particular against the policies in favor of the Malay ethnic group which she fears of seeing increasing: " You know we cannot win the hearts of people with racist rhetoric, that does not will not work, it will just divide us that, it will be to the advantage of those in power! ".

For Arief, the hope of 2018, when this new coalition came to power is no longer there: " I was very optimistic, because it was my first vote and the change was fluid, there was no of bloodshed, but today I am disappointed and I am not the only one, I was optimistic today I am realistic ”.

A realism which leads him today to think that there will be no real change without renewal of the political class : " I think it is important to have new elections, but it would also be relevant d 'Having new parties, the current parties have been in power for so long and the ruling Pakatan Harapan party has failed to bring about real change. "

This Wednesday, however, the King of Malaysia will continue to receive all members of Parliament individually to decide on the formation of a new majority.
