Dan Nan Ambassagou is a real bane for some, including civilians in the Mopti region, an armed protective group for part of the population of central Mali. Officially, this armed militia has been dissolved by the Malian government for over a year. But in reality, these traditional Dogon hunters are still on the ground and often show their muscles.

Remove illegal checkpoints

The Prime Minister of Mali, Boubou Cissé, has just completed a visit to central Mali where he has seen for example for himself that roadblocks are installed by the Dan Nan Ambassagou group in Dogon country. Rather angry, the head of government asked to remove all these illegal checkpoints.

The national army must take over

Dan Nan Ambassagou's general staff reacted quickly to this decision: it is ready to remove the checkpoints installed on one condition: that the national army be present and take over. A group of deputies from the Dogon country supports the declaration of the armed group. In a press release made public, the group of deputies asks the Prime Minister to prioritize dialogue in order to find a solution.
