The joint burial of the cabinet of the former Prime Minister of Japan, Yasuhiro Nakasone, who died last year, and the Liberal Democratic Party is scheduled to take place on March 15 with the participation of government officials, members of the Diet, and the general public.

However, in light of the spread of the new coronavirus, the government has decided to postpone the joint burial of former Prime Minister Nakasone for the time being at a cabinet meeting on May 25.

At a press conference after the Cabinet meeting, Chief Cabinet Secretary Kan said, "Taking into account the expected size of attendees, we have decided to postpone for a while from the perspective of preventing a new type of coronavirus infection."

Then, on the specific schedule after the postponement, he checked the infection status of the new coronavirus and showed that he would adjust again with the bereaved family.
