Hong Kong media, opposition parties and the medical community have voiced criticism that Hong Kong has issued a "red travel alert" to South Korea for the spread of Corona19.

Earlier, the Hong Kong authorities issued a red travel alert to Korea, which banned non-Hong Kong people from South Korea from 6:00 am today (25th) or non-Hong Kong people who have visited Korea within the last 14 days.

If you are a Hong Kong citizen who has visited Daegu or Gyeongsangbuk-do in Korea, you will be held in quarantine for 14 days.

Hong Kong authorities have cited the rapid proliferation of Corona 19 in Korea as the basis for the red travel alert, but has been criticized by Hong Kong for its impartiality with mainland China.

Since mid-month last month, as the deaths of corona 19 and mainstream infections increased in mainland China, mainly in Wuhan, there was a voice in Hong Kong to block the spread of corona 19 by totally blocking the border with China.

Hong Kong's Secretary of State Carrie Lam, however, did nothing to control Hong Kong's public health unions after the general strike and the first Corona 19 deaths in Hong Kong.

It was a two-week quarantine for travelers and Hong Kong citizens who had visited China, but it was not a total ban.

Hong Kong Daily Bin Guilbo reported on the front page of today's front page that "Carrie Ram, who had opened the door to the mainland Chinese, closed the door to Korea."

The Democratic Party, the first opposition party in Hong Kong, has criticized the action in a press conference, based on a recent press conference that "the ban on mainland China is discrimination against mainlanders."

The Hong Kong Democratic Party urged, "These bans discriminate against Koreans," he urged. "Hong Kong authorities must ban all China's mainland and make travel alerts for Japan and Italy."

The Hong Kong opposition Citizens Party also criticized, "Does this mean hate against mainland Chinese, but hate against South Korea?"

Hong Kong's public medical union has accused the Hong Kong authorities of banning only South Korea, except for mainland China, on a "double standard," which prioritizes politics over life.
