Dubai Health Authority today announced the success of the first kidney transplant operation in Dubai Hospital, two weeks ago, for a student of a citizen studying at the university, and the donor was the patient's sister.

Dr. Maryam Al Raisi, Executive Director of Dubai Hospital, stated that a team took more than six months in preparing the logistics to carry out the transplant, and managed to successfully perform the operation, adding that the operation was carried out by two teams, one of them led by a consultant and head of the urology department at Dubai Hospital, Dr. Yasser Al-Saeedi is a consultant, who managed to remove the kidney from the donor using an endoscope, and is considered the only doctor who can remove the kidneys using the endoscope through the 3D printer.

As for the second team that performed the kidney transplantation of the patient under the leadership of Italian Dr. Andrea, and with Dr. Zaid Al-Mazen, one of the Emirati competencies in the surgical department of Dubai Hospital

She added that the two medical teams are made up of 25 doctors, including those who performed the eradication process, and some of them who implanted, pointing out that the patient was washing three times a week.

And indications that the patient left the hospital a week ago from now, and confirm the periodic monitoring and follow-up of him and the donor improved their condition, pointing out that the sister donated to the sick brother out of responsibility towards his sick brother, after the death of their parents, noting that the patient is 27 years old suffering from kidney failure and donated He has a 24-year-old sister in her kidney and the kidney transplant has been successfully completed.
