Quarantine has been imposed on a hotel on the Spanish island of Tenerife, with 1,000 guests, after one confirmed case of the new mutated Corona virus (Covid-19), according to Spanish TV reports.

Police are guarding the hotel in Adeje, in the southwest of Tenerife, the largest of the Canary Islands, so that everyone inside can be examined, according to El Mundo.

Previously, a hotel inmate from Lombardy in Italy had been tested positive for the virus, according to the Spanish Ministry of Health.

The man, who was on vacation with his wife, is currently isolated in Nuestra Senora de Candelaria Hospital, and he will undergo two additional examinations.
