Chinanews.com, February 24th. According to foreign media reports, a few days ago, US authorities stated that a runner in Washington National Park crawled for nearly 8 hours after hurting his ankle and was finally rescued.

The Jefferson County Search and Rescue Team issued a statement on social media saying, "In this case, the (wounded) carried a charged mobile phone and showed incredible perseverance, preventing more serious injuries."

The statement said that at about 5 pm local time on the 21st, runners were injured on the runway of the Dakabush River in Washington Olympic National Park. He was about 16 kilometers from the end of the runway, and there was no signal on his mobile phone, so he could not call for help.

It is reported that at that time, the temperature was below zero, and he was only wearing lightweight running clothes. Until 12:45 am on the 22nd, he received a text message and found that the mobile phone had a signal. Then he called 911 and continued to crawl.

The statement said that after receiving the alarm, Brinnon Fire Department staff responded with Jefferson County Search and Rescue Team volunteers and began searching for the track of injured runners.

The wounded was later found about 8 to 9 kilometers away from the site of his injuries, and the fire department found that he had a broken foot and suffered severe cold. Search and rescue personnel then transferred them to the hospital for treatment.
