Officials of U.S. forces in Korea confirmed first infection with coronavirus Feb. 24, 20:56

U.S. forces stationed in South Korea have revealed that officials have been confirmed as infected for the first time with the new coronavirus.

The infection was confirmed in a woman in her 60s of a military family living in the southern region of Daegu, where the infection is concentrated.

The woman reportedly visited US military facilities twice this month, but did not disclose her nationality.

The U.S. military is increasingly cautious, urging all stakeholders to thoroughly wash their hands and stay away from congregation areas.

A Washington-US defense ministers meeting is scheduled for Washington in the United States on May 24, and it is expected that they will also exchange opinions on measures to respond to the new coronavirus.
