The number of people infected with corona virus in Britain increased to 13, after it was confirmed that 4 new cases were on board a cruise ship in Japan.

The passengers were among 30 British and two Irish passengers, held for 14 days at Aru Park Hospital in Wirral.

The four people were taken to a private isolation hospital in Milton Keynes on Sunday.

The "Diamond Princess" ship was quarantined in Japan after medical tests revealed positive results of HIV infection in more than 600 people from the ship's passengers, in the largest gathering of the virus of its kind outside China.

It had 3,700 people on board, and after tests, cases showing negative results for the virus began to leave the ship, after being subjected to a 14-day quarantine.

74 Britons were on the ship before they were returned to the United Kingdom on Saturday.

The British Ministry of Health said that an examination had been made of the passengers on the flight from Japan, adding that no symptoms of the disease had been seen on any of them.

Janelle Holmes, director of the Wirral University Hospital, said things were going on as usual.

"When the guests arrived yesterday evening, we followed the established steps in this situation, which aim to prevent the spread of infection, in order to limit the possibilities of transmission of the virus to a minimum," she added.

Meanwhile, the Italian authorities announced that a woman infected with cancer and the new Corona virus died in Lombardy, raising the number of deaths Sunday to three, to be the country most affected by the epidemic in Europe.

Regional health aide Julio Gallera said it was "about an elderly woman who was being treated in Crema (in Lombardy) days ago that tests showed she had Covid-19".

He explained that she was admitted to the "Department of Cancer Diseases in a critical condition".

The Italian government has decided to cut the famous Venice carnival, in an attempt to control what is considered the worst spread of the Corona virus in Europe.

The authorities in the Veneto region said the event would end later on Sunday, two days ahead of schedule.

In Italy, there is the largest number of new HIV infections in Europe, which reached 130.

Italy imposed strict quarantine restrictions in two northern "hotspots" areas near Milan and Venice.

About 50,000 people cannot enter or leave many cities in Veneto and Lombardy for the next two weeks without special permission.

Companies and schools have suspended their activities, and sporting events including matches in the Italian Football League have been canceled.
