During Saturday, SMHI issued Class 1 warnings for winds throughout Götaland, Svealand in addition to the Dalafjällen and Gävleborg counties. During the evening the warnings for very harsh winds were removed for most areas except Bohuslän, Halland and the western parts of Skåne.

- Where there continues to be quite a lot of wind during the night is mainly Bohuskusten and also Halland. On the Bohus coast, there may be storms, so that warning will remain, says Gustav Åström, meteorologist at SMHI.

In Laplandsfjällen, there is still a Class 1 warning for very strong winds with precipitation. During Sunday, there is a risk of storm on the calcareous mountain.

During Saturday afternoon, the Swedish Transport Administration had a lot to do with removing trees that had blown down and affected the traffic on the smaller road network in large parts of the country.

In Malmö, a scaffolding was about to collapse, and the emergency services moved out to secure it.

Train canceled

The Swedish Transport Administration has suspended train traffic throughout the Saturday night on several smaller distances in western Sweden due to windy and high water levels, as well as the Gothenburg-Oslo section. On the routes Uddevalla-Strömstad and Varberg-Borås, traffic is suspended during both Saturday and Sunday.

- As it seems now, traffic will flow again on Monday, but of course you have to check properly, especially it is to check that there are no fallen trees on the tracks, says Camilla Hult at the Swedish Transport Administration's press service.

Road traffic was completely closed on the Uddevalla bridge, but during the evening the traffic for passenger cars was opened again. There is still a stop for wind-sensitive vehicles. The Älvsborg Bridge in Gothenburg could be opened completely after being closed for heavy traffic during the day.

High flows

Along the west coast, in Skåne and Blekinge, the abundant rainfall has also led to very high flows in many streams.

SMHI has issued class 2 warning in Säveån, Viskan, Ätran, Nissan, parts of Lagan, Helge å, Mörrumsån and Ronnebyån. Many watercourses in Götaland have flows at class 1 level.

The water level is also very high along the country's coasts and ball warnings have been issued for all the country's waters.

Uncertain development

The wind blows during the weekend and it can also rain and wet snow in their parts of southern Sweden. Even in the mountains, it gets snowy and windy.

- After the weekend, the development is uncertain. It will be temporarily a little quieter, but from late on Monday night and on into Tuesday and Wednesday, there seems to be new low pressure, says meteorologist Sofia Söderberg at SMHI.

According to SMHI, a Class 2 warning means very inclement weather that "can pose a danger to the public, major material damage and major disruptions in important social functions".
