Tsinghua's multi-index kit approved

The research result is a new microfluidic chip system for multi-virus detection of the respiratory tract. This chip only needs to collect secretion samples such as oropharyngeal swabs from patients, and can detect new types of coronavirus (2019- nCoV) including six common respiratory viruses.

Beijing News (Reporter Li Lixia) On February 23, the reporter learned from Tsinghua University that the "Six Respiratory Viral Nucleic Acid Nucleic Acids" jointly designed and developed by the team of Academician Cheng Jing of Tsinghua University School of Medicine, West China Hospital of Sichuan University, and Boao Biological Group Co., Ltd. "Detection kit (constant temperature amplification chip method)" has passed the emergency medical device approval of the State Drug Administration on the 22nd. It is reported that the kit can detect six kinds of common respiratory viruses including the new coronavirus (2019-nCoV) in one time within 1.5 hours.

According to reports, the "Six Respiratory Virus Nucleic Acid Detection Kit (Constant Temperature Amplification Chip Method)" approved for this emergency is a new microfluidic chip system for multi-virus detection of the respiratory tract, which only needs to collect the patient's oropharynx Sewer samples such as swabs can detect six common respiratory viruses, including the new coronavirus (2019-nCoV), in one and a half hours. This is also the world's first kit to detect six respiratory virus nucleic acids, including the new coronavirus, in 1.5 hours. The product has obtained 15 authorized patents.

The "Six Respiratory Virus Nucleic Acid Assay Kit (Constant Temperature Amplification Chip Method)" approved for this emergency, once applied to the clinic, will be able to quickly identify and diagnose suspect patients in a timely manner, reduce the burden on the hospital, and make valuable treatment Resources are focused on the treatment of patients with the new coronavirus.

In addition to the new coronavirus, the system has twice the speed of other single-targeted detection products that have been approved. It can simultaneously detect five other common respiratory viruses, so it can accurately identify various common viruses, including the new coronavirus. Troubleshoot other viruses that cause similar symptoms; products are faster, more, and safer.

Tsinghua University said that after the product was approved, Tsinghua University has provided four sets of testing equipment to Wuhan, a serious epidemic, and donated chips and reagents worth 5 million yuan to complete 12,000 tests. These instruments and equipment will be put into the Huazhong University of Science and Technology Affiliated Union Hospital, Tongji Hospital, and Vulcan Mountain and other hospitals for the re-examination of newly identified patients with clinical diagnosis and the differential diagnosis of suspected patients.
