The UAE Armed Forces announced the signing of 5 deals with local and international companies with a total value exceeding 156 million dirhams, during a press conference held at the end of the first day of the unmanned systems exhibitions "Yumex 2020" and simulation and training "Simtex 2020".
His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, opened the fourth edition of the unmanned systems exhibition "Yumex 2020" and simulation and training "Simtex 2020" in their biggest course ever, which will continue until February 25.
His Highness received in the exhibition board heads and members of delegations from the participating countries, from civilians and military personnel, as His Highness welcomed the guests wishing them a pleasant stay on the land of the UAE, expressing his hope that this international event, which is hosted every two years by Abu Dhabi, will achieve the desired success.
His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan and his companions toured the corridors of the exhibition, and His Highness visited a number of national and foreign pavilions participating in the two exhibitions, where he visited a number of exhibiting companies and learned from their representatives on the latest innovations and technologies in unmanned systems industries, simulation and training in addition to artificial intelligence technologies and robots.
His Highness exchanged talks with exhibitors and company representatives about their participation during the exhibition and its importance in exchanging experiences and experiences with other participants and exhibitors in exploring future global trends in these vital sectors.
His Highness revealed the new Emirati-made "Karmousha" helicopter on the "Edge" platform. The launch of "Karmoushe" aims to enhance the capabilities of air operations and improve performance through a lightweight military helicopter, designed to transport payloads of approximately 100 kg for a period of up to 6 hours and the extent of 150 km within line of sight.
His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan said that the Yumex and Simtex exhibitions are a gateway to the future and an exceptional opportunity to stimulate innovation in view of the increasing international demand for the UAE to participate in various international events and exhibitions.
His Highness stressed that the UAE has succeeded in consolidating its presence and reputation in various technological and industrial fields by attracting and adopting artificial intelligence in its strategies, which is in line with the directives of rational leadership and national plans aimed at playing a pivotal role in adopting the latest technologies and best global practices by opening its doors to exchange experiences.
During the opening ceremony, His Highness witnessed an interactive presentation using artificial intelligence technologies and the latest findings of future technology in the world of robotics and live technical presentations, followed by a tour of His Highness in the various exhibition facilities and exhibiting platforms for national, regional and global products and innovations.
The current session is held with the participation of specialized local, regional and global institutions, to highlight the latest innovations and technologies in unmanned systems industries, simulations and training, in addition to artificial intelligence technologies and robots, and future global trends in these sectors, in front of a global audience that includes government delegations and a group of agencies and agencies specialized in these Civil sectors and bodies.
Exhibitors highlight the functional and practical aspects that unmanned systems provide in daily human life, which boils down to a host of benefits of increasing resilience, reducing capital, and lowering operational costs.

The number of exhibiting companies has increased in the fourth cycle to reach 166 companies, with a growth rate of 38 percent compared to the previous session in 2018, and the total area of the exhibitors increased by 40 percent to reach 25 thousand square meters, compared to the area of the previous session of the exhibitors. While the number of participating countries reached 30 countries in addition to 7 national pavilions, the number of national companies participating in the event reached 66, which constitute 40 percent of the total exhibiting companies.
The two exhibitions are expected to attract more than 18,000 visitors from all over the world, with a growth rate of more than 50 percent compared to the previous session.
The Yumex and Simtex exhibition witnessed many new events, which are held for the first time in conjunction with the Mohammed bin Zayed Global Robot Challenge 2020, which is organized by Khalifa University, in addition to the national championship of the series of artificial intelligence and robot competitions, which are organized by the Ministry of Education, while the Authority participates Public Authority for Ports, Borders and Free Zones Security for the first time in the exhibition activities. "
In conjunction with both exhibitions, the activities of "Mohammed bin Zayed Global Robot Challenge 2020", organized by Khalifa University, were launched. This challenge, which was launched in 2015, is one of the most prestigious global competitions in the field of robotics, which is organized in Abu Dhabi every two years, where the value of Prizes during which she offers $ 5 million.
The Mohammed bin Zayed World Robot Challenge 2020, which attracts the most important innovations in artificial intelligence, robotics, and ground and air vehicles with self-control, includes three challenges, and a total of 34 teams and approximately 500 researchers are preparing for these categories of robotic systems labs, accounting for 10%.
