February 23, 2020 New fatal accident along the 'via ferrata delle Aquile' in Trentino. In the late afternoon today, a 33-year-old man from the province of Parma was found lifeless in the gully that precedes the attachment point of the via ferrata path on Mount Paganella. The excursion companions who were waiting for him at the bus raised the alarm at the emergency number 112.The helicopter was sent to the scene and after a flight over the via ferrata he noticed the body of the hiker crashed following the snowy and icy slope.
The medical team was lowered with the winch but there was nothing for the man to do. A doctor who was serving in the hospital in Vipiteno died on that same spot on February 2.
