President Vladimir Putin said that Russia will continue to send the latest weapons and equipment to all types of troops. The head of state said this while congratulating veterans, personnel and civilian personnel of the Russian Armed Forces on Defender of the Fatherland Day at a concert of the Ministry of Defense.

“We will continue to strive for our army and navy to become more and more modern, which means to strengthen the potential of strategic forces, to send the latest weapons and equipment to all types and types of troops, including laser, hypersonic systems, and high-precision systems,” said the Russian leader.

Many of the domestic weapons systems have no analogues in the world, Putin added.

“According to a number of promising samples - and this is actually the weapon of the future - we have already moved from the test phase to putting them on alert on a constant alert," the president explained.

This means that Russia's defense capability is reliably ensured in the long run, the head of state added.

A military expert Alexei Leonkov in a conversation with RT explained that first of all we are talking about hypersonic weapons.

“As we know,“ Dagger ”is already on combat duty,“ Vanguard ”is taking up combat duty. In the near future, the RS-28 Sarmat missile will be adopted. On the approach anti-ship hypersonic rocket "Zircon". These complexes will soon take up combat duty and will be included in the arsenal of both strategic nuclear forces and our valiant air forces, ”he said.

Such weapons will change the face of Russian troops, the expert stressed. He recalled that a number of experts, both domestic and foreign, consider hypersonic technology to be a “revolutionary step."

Doctor of Military Sciences, retired Captain 1st Rank Konstantin Sivkov also believes that we are talking about samples of hypersonic weapons.

“Only Russia today has these weapons. First of all, this is a weapon of operational radius of action: this is Zircon, this is the Dagger rocket. Further, this is the Poseidon submarine super torpedo equipped with thermonuclear ammunition of a particularly large caliber. Thirdly, the weapons of the future are ultra-long-range cruise missiles X-101 and X-102, and a missile ... called "Petrel". Of course, the S-500 anti-aircraft missile system, which is not yet available, is also a weapon of the future. Another T-14 tank - so far there is nothing equivalent in combat capabilities in the world, ”the expert explained.

Recall, in December, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu reported to Vladimir Putin on putting on alert “the first missile regiment armed with the latest strategic missile system with the Avangard hypersonic planning winged warhead. For the first time, the development of the Avangard complex became known from the president’s message to the Federal Assembly on March 1, 2018. Putin noted that this winged block is moving toward the target, “like a meteorite, a ball of fire,” and carries out deep maneuvering, which makes it absolutely invulnerable to any air defense and missile defense systems.

Also at an expanded meeting of the board of the Ministry of Defense, Putin recalled that Russia is ahead of other countries in terms of the development of advanced weapons, since no one else in the world has hypersonic weapons.

According to him, the situation in the new and recent history of the country is unique: "They are catching up with us."

“No country today has hypersonic weapons at all, and continental-range hypersonic weapons — all the more so,” the president said.

In November, Deputy Defense Minister Aleksey Krivoruchko announced that the Project 1155 Marshal Shaposhnikov large anti-submarine ship and Project 949A Irkutsk multipurpose nuclear submarine will receive 3M22 Zircon hypersonic missiles as a result of modernization. Prior to this, Vladimir Putin also said that the ammunition will be included in the arsenal of the corvette of the project 20385 “Thundering”. It is assumed that he will be the first carrier of hypersonic missiles in the Navy.

Also in October, during a summit of the heads of CIS countries in Ashgabat, Putin announced that Russia would work to create medium- and shorter-range missiles (INF), as they appeared in the United States. At the same time, the President of Russia emphasized that Moscow would not deploy missiles where the United States and its allies would not.
