Wooden stands have now been built inside the building to keep the walls from collapsing. Should the walls not be able to withstand the pressure, the water could enter the electric power plant.

On Sunday afternoon, the municipality announced that they are continuously working on picking up trees, boats and other things to ensure that water flow is not stopped in the river Lagan. In addition, excavation is performed in Hamneda to prevent the bridge from adversely affecting the flow.

High water flows

On Wednesday, SMHI issued a Class 2 warning for Ronnebyån, Mörrumsån and parts of Lagan. Since then, the water has continued to rise, as a consequence of unusually much rainfall lately.

According to SMHI, a Class 2 warning means very inclement weather that "can pose a danger to the public, major material damage and major disruptions in important social functions".
